NCCR Molecular Systems Engineering

The National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) of Molecular Systems Engineering is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and headed by the University of Basel and ETH Zurich. 

The NCCR combines the disciplines chemistry, biology, physics with bioinformatics and engineering to synthesise, assemble and engineer molecular modules into molecular factories approaching the complexity of a cell.

D-​BSSE Professor Daniel Müller heading the Biophysics Group is the Co-​Director of the NCCR and represents the co-​leading house ETH Zurich.
