Fall Semester 2022 Update

NOTICE: The German Courses organized by VMB have been discontinued. Reach out to us for alternative resources.

We are very happy that D-BSSE is home to many international students and researchers. However, since the department is situated in Basel international researchers cannot benefit from the language courses organized at the main campus in Zurich. In order to enhance their experience living in Switzerland and allow better integration into swiss culture, we aim to establish a German course at D-BSSE. Moreover, we believe that the interdisciplinary nature of the department demands strong intergroup communication which might benefit from students of different groups learning a foreign language together.

This course is aimed at students of D-BSSE who want to learn German for their daily life in Basel and at the University. Participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of grammar and vocabulary. They also learn how to communicate effectively in private, professional and academic contexts.

The upcoming Spring Semester German courses will be hosted on Zoom.

The Spring Semester German courses are weekly, include levels A1.2, A2.2, B1.2, and B2.2, and take place at the following dates:
