The new BSS research building in Basel and the GLC in the centre of Zurich are now ready for occupation. The construction work took longer than planned, but the time has finally come: staff from the BSSE, HEST and ITET departments have begun to move in.

Researchers around D-BSSE professor Andreas Hierlemann have developed a cell culture test to detect substances that are directly or indirectly harmful to embryos. Independent task force with new leader

Martin Ackermann steps down as head of the Swiss National Covid-19 Science Task Force. Tanja Stadler succeeds him in this responsible position. In this ETH podcast episode both ETH professors talk about what the pandemic taught them about the intersection of science and politics, how they cope with being people of public interest and also about how they hope the task force will become redundant in the future, even though the virus remains.
