ETH Globe: Testing toxicity to protect embryos

Drugs need to be safe - and in the case of pregnant women, they must also be safe for the unborn child. Researchers around D-BSSE professor Andreas Hierlemann have developed a cell culture test to detect substances that are directly or indirectly harmful to embryos.
