Randy is one of this year's MIT TR35 - the MIT Technology Review's list of the top technology innovators in the world under the age of 35.

The award acknowledges the lab’s work on transcriptional recording, a CRISPR-based technology that endows cells with synthetic memory at the transcriptome-scale – providing an entry point into interrogating dynamic cellular processes and creating non-invasive living microbial diagnostics.
