The blog post written by Prof. Tanja Stadler talks about one of the most important health threats to the modern world – infectious disease epidemics, and about our progress in making sense of epidemic spread. While the progress is significant, scientists working on such topics need a much stronger support from the authorities to enable real-time managment of epidemics. While extremely deadly virus pandemics are still a thing from a Hollywood movie for now, stronger support in the future may help us avoid the movie threat coming to reality.
