New publication on reassortment networks is named an SIB Remarkable Output for 2019
Nicola, Ugnė, Tanja, and Tim have a new publication in PNAS describing their work on CoalRe: A framework for phylogenetic inference on reassortment networks.
by
Sarah Ann Nadeau
The team developed a novel framework for phylogenetic inference under a coalescent model including reassortment. They used their model to find that reassortment is associated with a fitness benefit for pandemic influenza. In addition to their external page publication, the group implemented their model in a external page BEAST2 add-on. This project was recognized as a external page Remarkable Output 2019 from the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB).
