Research area
Bethany is a computational palaeobiologist, interested in understanding patterns and drivers of speciation and extinction on geological timescales. Her current research focuses on developing and applying skyline models in a macroevolutionary context.
She completed her PhD at the University of Leeds in 2021, researching spatial patterns of diversity, speciation and extinction associated with the Permian-Triassic mass extinction and subsequent prolonged biotic recovery.
2021 - present Postdoc in Computational Evolution at ETH Zürich, Basel, Switzerland
2017 - 2021 PhD in Computational Palaeobiology at University of Leeds, Leeds, UK
2016 - 2017 MSc in Palaeobiology at University of Bristol, Bristol, UK
2012 - 2015 BSc in Natural Sciences (Biology and Earth Sciences) at Durham University, Durham, UK
