Ethics in Engineering Life conference urges continuation of dialogue

News

The speakers at the Ethics of Engineering Life Conference held in September 2022 in Rome agreed on a pronouncement which calls for a continuation of the fruitful dialogue among different disciplines and relevant stakeholders, saying: “In a world in which engineering life is rapidly improving, and new challenges arise in its application, a common effort to disentangle the moral issues would imply universal benefits in terms of ethical admissibility and allow to find the right path forward”.

At the Biophysical Society meeting in Stockholm in August, Selen won the poster award for her poster presentation of her work on polymyxin antibiotics.

Selen Manioğlu defended her PhD thesis

Congratulations to Selen on her PhD thesis defence! On Friday, 22nd October, Selen defended her PhD thesis "Studying the effect of polymyxin-class antibiotics on the bacterial outer membrane". Following our long-standing tradition, Selen was gifted a singature Müller Force graduation hat. Thank you, Selen, for the excellent and lavish Turkish apèro you organised and congrats!
