Did you know...

... we have analysers enable to take the full emission spectra of fluorochromes?

At the DBSSE Flow Cytometry Facility, you can use our spectral flow cytometers - Aurora and ID7000 - for advanced sample analysis.
Spectral flow cytometry enhances experimental design by offering greater multiplexing capability and improved handling of autofluorescence.
Unlike conventional cytometry, spectral flow cytometry captures the entire emission spectrum of each fluorochrome across multiple detectors, rather than assigning one detector per dye. This enables:
• Better separation of fluorochromes with overlapping spectra
• Simultaneous use of more fluorochromes (often 30+), ideal for high-dimensional immunophenotyping
• Inclusion of novel dyes that are not compatible with conventional systems due to spectral overlap
In addition, spectral flow cytometry offers more accurate autofluorescence detection and subtraction, which is especially beneficial for complex or highly autofluorescent samples—such as tissues, stem cells, or certain tumors. This leads to:
• Improved signal resolution for dim markers
• Higher data quality in challenging sample types
