Mandatory Thesis Committee Meetings End of Year 4 and 5

The mandatory thesis committee meeting has to take place at the end of years 4 and 5, if no defense date is set within the next year. It is organised by the doctoral student.

The thesis committee consists at least of:

• Supervisor of the doctoral thesis
• Second advisor(s)
• Registered co-examiners

At least one member must be from outside D-BSSE.

It is recommended that the composition of the thesis committee resembles the composition of the examination committee, but changes may be possible.

A template is provided by the D-BSSE and must be used, see Documents.

The thesis committee meeting report signed by all participants has to be submitted electronically after the meeting to the .

Thesis committee meetings at the end of years 2 and 3 are voluntary and take place if requested by either the doctoral student or the thesis supervisor.
