Mandatory Thesis Committee Meetings End of Year 4 and 5

Mandatory thesis committee meetings have to take place at the end of years 4 and 5, if no defense date is set within the next year. They are organised by the doctoral student.

The thesis committee consists at least of:

Supervisor of the doctoral thesis
Second/further advisor
Registered co-examiners

At least one member must be from outside D-BSSE.

It is recommended that the composition of the thesis committee resembles the composition of the examination committee, but changes are possible.

After the meeting, the report has to be signed by all participants and submitted electronically to the D-BSSE Doctoral Administration.

Thesis committee meetings at the end of years 2 and 3 are voluntary and take place if requested by either the doctoral student or the thesis supervisor.
