Basel Research Centre for Child Health
The external page Basel Research Centre for Child Health (BRCCH) started operations on 1 January 2019 as a joint research initiative by ETH Zurich and the University of Basel; Prof. Georg Holländer and Prof. Daniel Müller both co-lead the Centre. Beside the University of Basel and ETH Zurich, partner institutions include the University Children's Hospital of Basel (UKBB) and the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) but research activities extend to teams and institutions worldwide.
Multi-Investigator Projects led by D-BSSE PIs
Multi-Investigator Projects (MIPs) represent BRCCH’s multi-institutional and multidisciplinary research activities. In 2020, a first roster of four MIPs were selected in the domains of AI-assisted surgical innovation, digital support systems and bioengineering for diagnostics and therapy.

In 2020, 11 research projects were approved in response to BRCCH’s Fast Track Call (FTC) for acute global health challenges, an initiative to address critical areas related to the COVID-19 pandemic, including Diagnostics, Immunology, and Interventions & Disease Management.
