SNF Ambizione Grant for Felix Franke
Felix Franke (Bio Engineering Laboratory) received an Ambizione grant of CHF 583 000 for three years from the Swiss National Science Foundation.
Felix Franke received a SNSF Ambizione grant for his proposal entitled Position Dependence of Retinal Computation. In this project he intends to explore the position-dependent nature of retinal image processing by measuring the position dependence of retinal ganglion cell properties across the whole retina and describing the interplay between eye optics and the position-dependent characteristics of retinal ganglion cells.
The grant amounts to CHF 583 000 and includes his own salary, the salary for an additional PhD student plus consumables. The external page SNSF Ambizione program is geared for young researchers to conduct, manage and lead an independently planned project at a Swiss university. Researchers are subsidised for a maximum of three years with a salary and project funds.
