Research area

Sai Reddy is an Associate Professor (with tenure since 2018) at ETH Zurich in the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering (Basel, Switzerland). His academic research is focused on the emerging field of systems, synthetic and computational immunology, with an aim towards developing technologies relevant for immunotherapy and biotechnology. Over the years, Prof. Reddy's research group has invented methods to reprogram immune cells for applications in protein therapeutics and cellular immunotherapy. Sai Reddy also serves as the Vice-Director of the Botnar Research Centre for Child Health, a collaboration of ETH Zurich and University of Basel with the mission of developing and applying cutting-edge technologies in biomedical research for improving the health and wellbeing of young people globally. 

In addition to the academic community, Sai Reddy has founded three ETH spinoff companies based on technologies developed in his academic research lab: (i) deepCDR Biologics for antibody drug discovery and engineering (acquired by Alloy Therapeutics in 2021), (ii) Engimmune Therapeutics for T cell-based cancer immunotherapies, (iii) Encelta for cellular immunotherapies.
